Easy To Create Thanksgiving Decor Ideas For A Vintage Look
Thanksgiving day evokes a traditional cozy holiday spirit. A Norman Rockwell vintage vibe.
Or yours might be more like a National Lampoon Christmas Vacation …
Let’s find a happy medium and create a warm holiday full of memories, time with family members and friends, and make this time of year, heck the entire season beautiful. These easy to create Thanksgiving decor ideas for a vintage look will make your holiday decorations simple so you can get in the Thanksgiving spirit and enjoy this special holiday.
Vintage Thanksgiving Decorations in the Living Room
Thanksgiving decorating in the living room is the perfect time to go all out in your fall decor. Mantels, side tables, coffee tables and even the furniture can get a touch of seasonal decor in a vintage style.
A good idea is to combine the beautiful natural elements of fall with your favorite pieces that have a vintage feel. On this mantel old copper pieces and amber bottles combine with pine cones, pumpkins and lamb’s ear garland.
A side table is a perfect spot for a fall tiered tray and a great way to add a vignette of warm colors to your home decor.
A coffee table is perfect for a riser or tray with seasonal decor. In this mushroom cloche I downloaded beautiful images of mushroom botanicals and used one of these inside.

Where To Look For Pieces For Your Vintage Thanksgiving Decorating
Read this post to find out how I shop year round for Christmas decor and for other holidays.
This pumpkin centerpiece is in a vintage firkin look-alike. This centerpiece would make a big impact on a sideboard for your Thanksgiving dinner. I used pheasant feathers, pumpkins and what I am calling Truffula Tree (who are my Dr. Seuss fans?) floral picks. They are a bit like the clovers in Horton Hears a Who too!
Vintage turkey platters are a good idea for Thanksgiving displays or for the star of your Thanksgiving menu.

Setting thrifty and thankful holiday tablescapes can be so much fun. The best part is getting creative with what you find while thrifting. I created this thrifty and thankful table in shades of sage green, cream, burgundy and pink. I shopped for table settings for eight and everything else not including silverware from discount stores and thrift stores.
See the beautiful pink plaid tablecloth? Not a vintage tablecloth at all! Shop in thrift stores and the remnant bin at your fabric store for fabric to dress up your tables.
In the center of the table I used a lamb’s ear garland with candles for a simple centerpiece. You can also use evergreen garlands with pine cones or a fall leaf garland.
And at each place setting I used a different flashcard from the fall and autumn set of vintage flashcards in Twigs and Fluff. Another idea would be to use vintage thanksgiving postcards at the place settings. You can get an image of an old postcard for free when you search for “free images in the public domain” on the internet.
