A Simple Repurpose – Wood Block Trees For Pictures And Recipes
In this post I want to show you a simple repurpose – wood block trees for pictures and recipes. I used them to display vintage flashcards in my Christmas vignettes!

Steps For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
As always when upcycling and repurposing your thrifted goods first remove all the tags and clean your items. I like to use this lemon essential oil as a more natural way to remove the sticky goo from price tags. I use a flat scraper to remove any tags then clean with either hot soapy water or Mr. Green.
First Step For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
Trace your wood block trees onto the back of your scrapbook paper. Trace the tree twice so you’ll have a front and back to mod podge on your wood block trees.
Second Step For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
Cut these tree shapes out of your paper with your scissors.
Third Step For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
Use a brush (I like a cheap chip brush) to put an even coat of mod podge on your wood block trees. Make sure you get to the edges. Place your tree cut out on your tree. Let that sit for a few minutes and carefully turn over to apply mod podge and your second tree paper shape.

Fourth Step For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
After the mod podge dries completely trim excess paper off with small scissors and a finger sander. Remember always sand down, maybe sideways, but never up! This will tear your paper.
Fifth Step For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
Because of an oopsie I inked all of the edges of the trees. I had sanded the red tree too much and tore the paper. This ink disguised that tear and dressed up the trees another degree. Alternatively you can use a small paintbrush and black paint on the edges of the trees.
Sixth Step For This Simple Repurpose On Wood Block Trees
I attached a picture clip with a small screw at the center top of each tree. I drilled a small pilot hole at an angle. Using a drill I put the screw in the top of the picture holder.
