My favorite place to decorate in my living room is the fireplace mantel. It is the perfect place to add patriotic decorations and celebrate Independence Day!
This mantel is as American as apple pie. A vintage wood sign (well it looks vintage!) of an old recipe card was the inspiration for this mantel. I added a large vase of faux apples – you can get a similar look with filled mason jars. A wood cutting board, an adorable vintage pie plate and bead garland in a red, white and blue color scheme fill this vignette. Add in a homemade American flag, a vintage inspired flashcard and old blue ink bottles for a simple way to create a grouping on a mantel, shelf, or kitchen island.
