Lamps can always be found while thrifting. There are ugly ones that can be made over. Then there are the ugly ones that you need to walk away from. Beautiful ones that make you question why they are donated. And vintage ones that although the electricity is questionable you tuck it in your basket. This bunny lamp was cute in its own right but it was brown. And I do not like brown! And that reason is why a rabbit lamp gets a quick and easy makeover in this post.

A Simple Step By Step

Tape

Use painter’s tape to tape off the places you do not want to get paint on. Tape off the electrical and around the cord. Plus if there are any accents pieces you want to leave unpainted tape these off as well.

Paint

I used silk mineral paint to paint this rabbit lamp. It took two coats to get full coverage and since it has a built in top coat I did not have to seal it. However, it felt a bit boring so I applied a dark glaze with a paper towel after that paint dried.

The bunny lamp turned out adorable and went straight into my vintage and upcycled shop! It looks adorable in this vignette with aged terra cotta pots, a simple bunny print in a vintage gold frame, a hymn shelf sitter and some ceramic pieces.
